An Unbroken Cap is a bird that has not commenced its first moult and carries a previous year or current year ring (or both).
A Young Bird is one that has completed its first moult and carries the previous year's ring.
An Adult Bird is one that carries a ring dated at least two years prior to the year of the shield.
All birds competing must be owned, bred and rung by the exhibitor.
